Thermoregulation and hypothalamus
Webb18 juni 2016 · The hypothalamus contains the central coordinating center for the various processes of thermoregulation. Specialized heat- and cold-sensitive neurons within the preoptic and anterior nuclei of the hypothalamus act as a thermostat to initiate thermoregulatory adjustments to deviations from normal body temperature. Webb7 sep. 2015 · In humans, body temperature is controlled by the thermoregulatory centre in the hypothalamus. It receives input from 2 sets of thermoreceptors: - Receptors in the hypothalamus monitor the temperature of the blood as it passes through the brain (the core temperature ), that remains very close to the set point, which is 37 °C in humans.
