WebThe movie does have forced subtitles for the non-English scenes. If they aren't there, make sure you don't have the subtitles disabled for that video. If you don't have them with your file, you can get them either via Plex or downloading a .srt file online and putting the file in the same folder as your movie. I'll see what's going on. WebThe following solved the issue for me. Open Plex on the nVidia Shield. On the side menu where you see all your libraries, scroll to the bottom and select "Settings". In the Settings menu, scroll down till you find the Video subsection. On the first option (Burn Subtitles) under the Video subsection. Change it from 'Automatic' to 'Always'.

They're just normal .srt or .ass files marked as forced. The way you describe doing it, you're burning it into the film, i.e. the subtitles are put on top of the video, and you cannot ever disable them because now they are part of the video file. lampmind
